Health Effects

Types of Symptoms.  Mold spores  are very tiny and light and can easily become airborne.  Once floating in the air, they are easy to inhale.  Not everyone exposed to mold will develop mold-related illness but some are more susceptible than others, including the very young,  the elderly, people with respiratory problems like asthma and those with immune related disorders.  Your pets are also susceptible.   Symptoms of mold related illnesses might include:

  • Headaches
  • Sore throats
  • A chronic cough
  • Trouble breathing or shortness of breath
  • A runny or stuffed nose or sneezing
  • Red, itchy and watering eyes
  • Asthma like symptoms
  • Infections in the lungs such as pneumonia and bronchitis even bleeding in the lungs
  • Sinus Infections
  • Fatigue
  • Depression
  • Joint pain

Mold Related Illnesses should be taken seriously.  If you have any symptoms that you can not explain, have yourself tested either through a skin, urine or blood test with your doctor.
